Affiliate Marketing Not As Easy As It Looks

If you think affiliate marketing is easy money, think again. You have to work just as hard at affiliate marketing as you would for any other website. Some get involved in affiliate marketing thinking they can just set up a one page website with a link and they will start raking in cash. Some people think that they will convert at a one to one ratio for every click when that is not the case. Many don’t take the time to research markets, select their keywords, apply good content, optimize their web pages, and set advertising budgets. Those are the people that fail.

If you get involved in affiliate marketing then you should try to avoid throwing up a crappy site because it will not work. Take your time and research your market. See how many search results there are for your main keywords. See how many searches per month your keywords get by looking at the overture search tool. After that task is completed take a few months to optimize your website for search engine. The reason that should be done is because just relying on pay per click (PPC) can be very expensive. You would be better off waiting until you are getting some search engine traffic.

The main things in affiliate marketing are to not rush into it. Do your research and do not just rely on PPC advertising. Doing so will only waste your time and money and leave you frustrated in the end.

Affiliate Marketing How to Hide Your Affiliate Links

Somehow people are less inclined to click on the affiliate
links.

And there will be more chances of copying and pasting the
first part of URL in to their browser. This certainly affects
your click throughs and your affiliate commission.

www.affiliateproduct.com/youraffiliateid?12345
OR
www.yoursite.com/product.html

Which will get more click throughs? Certainly the second one.
It looks like the product link is so integrated in to your site.
People think that is one of your products.

Here are three methods that you can use to cover your affiliate
links.

***METHOD ONE: By creating redirecting pages:

1. Open your note pad or html editor.

2. Copy and paste this code in your note pad and save as ‘.html’
file with a catchy name.

Redirecting to youraffiliatesite.com…

You will be redirected to youraffiliatesite.com.

TIP: Second line of this code (”refresh” metatag) should be in
SINGLE line. Take out all * characters from the html code.

3. Upload this file to your server. Send this URL in your emails or
keep on your website.

4. When your subscriber or visitor clicks on the link they will be
redirected to your affiliate page.

***METHOD TWO: A cool Html Trick that works on your webpages:

Usually you will keep your links in this format-

clickhere

In this way when you keep your cursor over the link, you can see
your long affiliate link.

Instead of above code, you can keep this code-

(Take out all * characters from html code)

Whole of the above line should be in SINGLE line. When you keep cursor
on the link, you can see the text that you put in the status bar.

***METHOD THREE: Producing Frame pages:

Actually your visitor sees a link like -
http://www.yoursite.com/product/index.html.

But when he clicks on the link he will be taken to a page where top frame
showing links to your site and lower frame showing your affiliate
product page.

your title

This page uses frames, but your browser doesn’t support them.

You can also use cgi scripts to make this happen -
http://www.webmasters-central.com/Server_side_Coding/CGI_and_Perl/Redirection/Frame_based_Redirection/

Basically these scripts retain a link for your site but your visitor goes to
your affiliate site. He can come back to your site anytime by clicking on
the links in the top frame.

***METHOD FOUR:Affiliate commission Booster software:

Here is a great tool that:

= Cloaks, Conceals and Hides Your REAL Affiliate Links
= Looks Like The Affiliate Site Is On YOUR Site
= Places Anything You Want In The Title Bar
= Cloaks The Site Link Text In The Status Bar
= Securely Promote ANY ClickBank Merchant Product
= Instant Order Page Redirection
= Adds Security To Your Affiliate Promotions

Becoming an Affiliate - Getting Other People to Do the Work!

When starting an online business, what you’re ideally aiming for is passive income - whether you’re an affiliate marketer, or produce your own product - so you don’t have to physically find all your potential customers. You want them to find you! You want sales to happen even when you’re asleep! While simply driving traffic to your website (by articles, advertising etc.) will help to do this, there is something else that you want to do - get other people to do some of the work for you!

When you make a direct affiliate sale, you probably will receive anything up to 50 per cent in commission, but you should not underestimate the value of having other people sign up as an affiliate of the same product under your own affiliate link. As a ’second-tier’ affiliate, you will earn less commission from any sales they make (approximately 10 per cent or so), but you will not have had to do any work for this commission - a very nice passive income indeed!

An additional advantage of second-tier commissions is that those affiliates signed up under you may be experienced affiliates already, and be supremely good at writing a sales letter to convince their visitor to buy a product. They also may have already built up a huge mailing list of subscribers who they can promote to and gain sales from, so already have a head start on your perhaps growing (but still small) list. It is undoubtedly better to earn 10 per cent of something, than 50 per cent of nothing!

One way of getting second-tier affiliates is by doing a ‘joint venture’. This requires doing searches on the internet for people with websites (and preferably newsletters or a sign-up form on their sites, so you know they have an existing subscriber list) interested in your subject, or in making money online generally. There are plenty of online business people and budding entrepreneurs out there!

Although collecting names and websites, and then contacting the webmasters to offer a joint venture can be a tedious procedure, and take some time to organise, your future, and ongoing, potential sales from this source make it a worthwhile sacrifice of your time and efforts! Good luck!
